While there areno widespread state-level sales tax rate changes scheduled for November 1, 2025, many local and special-purpose tax jurisdictions across the U.S. may adjust their rates on that date. Businesses should monitor local tax changes, which are common throughout the year.
Please note:
Washington, D.C.:A planned sales tax increase for October 1, 2025, from 6.0% to 6.5% was repealed, so the rate remains at 6.0%. An increase to 7.0% is still planned for 2027.
