October 1st of every year usually sees many State and Local tax rates change and this year is no different. Here are changes in the General Retail Sales Tax rates.
ALABAMA:
ARKANSAS:
ARIZONA: Although commonly referred to as a sales tax, the Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) is actually a tax on a vendor for the privilege of doing business in the state.
CALIFORNIA:City rate changes listed below include the combine state and local rates.
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA: The sales and use tax rate will increase from 5.75% to 6%
GEORGIA: Twenty-two counties increased they rates by 4% bringing the total sales tax rate to 8%
KANSAS: City and County rate changes, as well as special districts.
MINNESOTA: In the City of Worthington, the combined rate has been reduced to 6.875%
MISSOURI: Let’s just say, this state has an awful lot of changes. Here is the detail.
MISSISSIPPI: One change for the City of Tupelo, an additional .25% for ZIP 38801.
NORTH CAROLINA: Seven counties have a tax rate change for a total combined rate of 7.0%
NORTH DAKOTA: Some city changes as follows:
OHIO: In Montgomery County, the combined state and local rate will increase from 7.25 to 7.5 percent. In Tuscarawas County, the combined rate will jump from 6.75 to 7.25 percent.
OKLAHOMA:The city of Glencoe has a new 4.662% tax, and other cities increased their tax rates:
Rogers county tax rate decreased from 1.833% to .8333%
TEXAS: The Hamlin Municipal Development District in Jones and Fisher counties is increasing the local sales and use tax to 0.5%. Rates are changing in the cities below, listed with the new combined rate:
UTAH: The following counties will impose a new 0.25% county option highway and public transit sales and use tax
WYOMING: Carbon County rate decreased from 2% down to 1% for a total sales tax rate of 5%
